H. Miller
Mr.
Miller, an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of California, retired in 2005
from a 40 year legal career with the Federal Government. For nearly 24 years he served as
the Regional Director of the National Labor Relations Board Regional Office in San Francisco.
Mr. Miller received a B.S. from Pennsylvania
State University and his law degree from Dickinson School of Law.
Additionally, he did graduate work in labor law at Georgetown University
in Washington, D.C. Recently, he became a California Certified Holistic
Health Counselor, a Certified First Degree Reike practitioner and
studied to become a Kinesiology-Touch For Health practitioner.
He also authored Bicycle Trails of Southern California and Boyle Endorphin Releasing Massage Therapy. Mr.
Miller resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, Bonnie
and his son, Jason.
Christine
A. Opie
Ms.
Opie was a writing teacher at California State University, Hayward,
where she gently but firmly coached emerging writers. She received
her B.A. in History from Sacramento State University and her M.A.
in English from San Francisco State University. In addition to her
training as an English teacher, Ms. Opie has also received her Master
Hypnotist certificate. She has successfully taught self-hypnosis
for stress reduction, and has made hypnosis tapes for family, friends,
and co-workers, all of whom have declared these tapes to be effective
and useful. Ms. Opie brings to this book her love of teaching, twenty
years of teaching experience in Africa, Asia and the U.S., and her
ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, readable way. She
has authored a textbook entitled, Writing Proficiency Workbook.
She resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her cat, Kiki.
Dr.
William Brose
Dr.
Brose, a recognized authority in pain management, is the founder
and former Director of the Stanford University Medical Center
Pain Management Service and is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology
at Stanford University Medical School. He is also in private practice
at Alpha-Omega Pain Medicine Associates in Palo Alto, California.
Pat
Parr
Pat
Parr, the talented musician who composed and played the background
music on the CDs, is Director of the Gay and Lesbian Chorus of San
Francisco and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. He lives in San Francisco.
